In keeping with the Mendota tradition, the Chelsea are both dramatic and efficient, offering anywhere between a low of 6,750 BTUs to 27-thousand BTUs. Shown here is the Chelsea with the Hanover front in classic cast iron, and the optional Cambridge metal doors also in black.

- Mendota FV44i Gas Insert w/Duchess Front
Want to liven up your fireplace insert with some color? The Duchess Front on Mendota’s FV44i gas insert gives you several choices. Pick either rich tranditional hues of ruby and amber or go dreamy with modern jewel tones of swirled blue and purple glass. Even if the fireplace is turned off, it’s a very pretty look. The Duchess front is available in Black, Antique Copper or Swedish Nickel.

Here’s another look at Mendota’s Full View FV44i gas insert, this time with the more stately Bentley Doors in Swedish Nickel. All Mendota door sets extend over the entire fireplace, granting you the largest possible view of Mendota’s unique two-stage ceramic burner. You can turn the flames down for a gentle glowing effect or crank it to a full roar. The Bentley Doors also come inBlack, Antique Copper, Gold, Gun Metal and Vintage Iron.

Here you can see why Mendota calls their FV44i gas insert a Full View fireplace. There’s little to block the view of the logs, flame and coal bed inside. The Basix Front is especially designed for those who want minimal visual interruption of that beautiful fire. With the remote control that comes with the FV44i, you can accurately control your room temperature with the thermostat function. Set the temperature and the burner will automatically turn down as your room temperature nears the set temperature.

But before you do that, look deeply into the flames of one of the most handsome inserts around. No tell tale louvers to squish the view. Mendota’s FV44i is an industry leader for another reason – no standing pilot light. Instead, the FV44i uses intermittent pilot ignition meaning the remote control that comes with the insert allows you to easily turn the pilot on and off, adjust the flame height and heat output. 2-stage ceramic burners, FireLight accent lights and firebrick lining complete the picture. Install a door from Mendota’s Andover collection on a DXV Zero Clearance Fireplace and you’ve captured the mood of 350-year old Andover Massachusetts. Classically styled doors and the same high-end touches found on all of Mendota’s DXV fireplaces, create the illusion of a traditional woodburning fireplace. The Andover Doors are available in black and Swedish nickel with overlays and accents available in antique copper, gold, vintage iron and black.
