A while back all kitchens had fireplaces – it was after all, where the cooking was done.  Grace yours with a nod to the past, but with all the modern convenience of Mendota’s Chelsea zero clearance gas fireplace.  In keeping with the Mendota tradition, the Chelsea are both dramatic and efficient, offering anywhere between a low of 6,750 BTUs to 27-thousand BTUs.  Shown here is the Chelsea with the Hanover front in classic cast iron, and the optional Cambridge metal doors also in black.

Here you can see why Mendota calls their FV44i gas insert a Full View fireplace.  There’s little to block the view of the logs, flame and coal bed inside.  The Basix Front is especially designed for those who want minimal visual interruption of that beautiful fire.  With the remote control that comes with the FV44i, you can accurately control your room temperature with the thermostat function.  Set the temperature and the burner will automatically turn down as your room temperature nears the set temperature.

Start with Mendota’s FV44i Full View insert and you can add one of several fronts to customize the look.  But before you do that, look deeply into the flames of one of the most handsome inserts around. No tell tale louvers to squish the view.
