SureFire Charred River Oak Gas Logs
SureFire Charred River Oak Gas Logs

Sometimes folks just want a fire in their fireplace to take the chill edge off a room.  Or it’s a formal living room where the fireplace isn’t used often because of the hassle with wood. Consider SureFire’s signature ceramic fiber gas logs.  The Charred River Oak log set pictured here uses a natural stacked design that recreates the look of a mature fire.  Using ceramic fiber produces a natural glowing effect and more radiant heat – nearly twice that of concrete logs.  Add that to a glowing ember bed and you have a very realistic looking fire.
Charred River Oak logs come in 21″, 24″ and 30″ sets.

It’s also a dandy little heater going from 27-thousand BTUs to a high of 38-thousand BTUs.  The airtight, energy-wise model is AFUE rated for nearly 80% efficiency. The FBIN is made of Heat n Glo’s FireBrick – a patented ceramic fiber material with a very high insulation factor.  FireBrick tolerates more heat, traps more heat and radiates more heat into the room than a metal fireplace insert.  The FBIN is shown here with the Halston operable doors in Aged Brass.  the Halston front is also available in Black, Graphite, and New Bronze.
Minimum fireplace opening:  30 1/4″w x 22 1/2″h x 14 1/8″ deep.

This wood stove is so clean burning it even burns up its own smoke.  Quadra Fire has a patented four point combustion system that results in cleaner air and less chimney maintenance – not to mention fewer trips to the woodpile.  Quadra Fire’s Millennium 3100 allows for front-to-back wood loading, making it safer – you don’t have to reach into the firebox and the system prevents the wood from rolling out accidentally. Welded steel construction and brick lining make the Millennium 3100 a durable and handsome addition to your home.

Heat n Glo SL550TR Zero Clearance Fireplace
Heat n Glo SL550TR Zero Clearance Fireplace

Good eye if you noticed that there’s already a Heat n Glo SL550 listed on our website.  To look at the fireplace, there’s not much to “see” what the differences are between the two models – except the way the fireplace has been displayed, of course.  But there is an important difference if you’re looking for efficiency. Most manufacturers make fireplaces in this category of two different types – one is more for decoration – to be a fireplace where the amount of heat isn’t really a consideration.  The other type has been tested to tougher furnace  standards, so you get better efficiency (approaching 80%), more options and more heat.  Shown here is the Heat n Glo SL550TR which generates between 15-thousand BTUs to 21-thousand BTUs, considered to be a moderate level of heat.  The SL550TRS is the model with the better flame, an advanced ceramic burner and refractory and the all-important AFUE rating with a range of 18,200 BTUs to 27,300 BTUs.  The SL550TRS also has ceramic glass, considered to be a better heat conductor than the more regular tempered glass so you also feel more of the heat in the room. Just wanted you to know the difference.
